Exported from MasterCook Olive Garden Toscana Soup Recipe By : The Olive Garden -Public RelationsServing Size : 4 Preparation Time :0:00Categories : Italian Soups Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method-------- ------------ -------------------------------- 1 1/2 cups Spicy sausage links -- 12 links 3/4 cup onion -- diced 1 1/4 teaspoons garlic -- minced 2 tablespoons chicken stock base 1 qt water 2 medium potatoes,halved -- then 1/4" slices 2 cups kale leaves, halved -- sliced 1/3 cup heavy cream Preheat oven to 300 degrees. Place sausage links onto a sheet pan andbake for 25 minutes, or until done; cut into half lengthwise, then cut atan angle into 1/2 inch slices. Place onions and bacon in a largesaucepan and cook over medium heat until onions are almost clear. Addgarlic and cook an additional 1 minute. Add chicken base, water andpotatoes, simmer 15 minutes. Add sausage, kale and cream. Simmer 4minutes and serve. Per one cup serving: 265 calories, 17 gmcarbohydrate, 10 gm protein, 18 gm fat, 897 mg. sodium, 51 mg cholesteroland 100 mg calcium. Doughnuts 1/3 c sugar 1/2 tsp butter 1 well beaten egg 1/2 c milk 2 c. flour 2 tsp baking powder 1/8 tsp cinnamon 1/8 tsp cloves 1/16 tsp mace 1/2 tsp salt cream sugar and butter add egg and milk mix and sift remaining ingredients add to liquid mixture Fry in oil till golden to dark brown ( test for doneness ) Sprinkle with 10x sugar ( confectioners sugar ) may also be frosted Makes 1 to 1 1/2 dozen Tater Tot Casserole

SURPRISE DESSERT 1 1/2 c. milk 1 (3 oz.) pkg. cream cheese, softened 1 (3-3/4 oz.) pkg. instant vanilla udding mix 4 c. angel cake cubes 1 (13-14 oz.) can crushed pineapple, drained 1 (2 oz.) pkg. dessert topping mix In a small mixer bowl, gradually blend milk into cream cheese, beating until smooth. Add pudding mix and beat at low speed of electric mixer until smooth and slightly thickened, about 2 minutes. Pour pudding mixture over angel cake cubes, stirring to coat. Turn into a 8x8x2 inch baking dish. Spread drained pineapple over top. Prepare dessert topping mix according to package directions. Spread over all. Chill several hours or overnight. Recipes - World Famous Recipes Amish Friendship Bread Starter and Bread Starter: 1 tablespoon Active Dry Yeast 2 cups Warm Water -- (110 degrees) 1 cup Flour 1 cup Sugar 1 cup Milk Bread: 1 cup Vegetable Oil 1 cup Sugar 2 cups Flour 3 Eggs 1 small Vanilla Pudding Mix -- Instant 1 teaspoon Cinnamon 1/2 teaspoon Salt 1/2 teaspoon Baking Soda 1/4 teaspoon Baking Powder 1/2 cup Milk Cinnamon Sugar: 1 cup Sugar 2 tablespoons Cinnamon For Starter: Dissolve yeast in 1/2 cup of the warm water in a deep glass container. Stir in remaining warm water, flour and sugar. Beat until smooth. Cover. A large glass jar or bowl with a tight fitting lid works best for this. Because your first batch of starter contains fresh yeast, you can skip the next set of directions and go directly to the instructions for splitting your start. Do not refrigerate! Do not stir with a metal spoon! The starter requires 10 days for fermentation. Day 1- Begin or receive starter Day 2- Stir with wooden spoon Day 3- Stir with wooden spoon Day 4- Stir with wooden spoon Day 5- Add 1 cup sugar, 1 cup flour, 1 cup milk Day 6- Stir with wooden spoon Day 7- Stir with wooden spoon Day 8- Do Nothing Day 9- Do Nothing Day 10- Add 1 cup sugar, 1 cup flour, 1 cup milk Put 1 cup of starter in each of three containers. Give 2 away to friends and keep one. This will begin their Day 1. For Bread: You will have about 1 cup of batter left besides the 1 cup you have saved for yourself. To the remaining batter add vegetable oil, sugar, flour, baking powder, baking soda, eggs, milk, vanilla pudding mix, cinnamon, and salt. Beat until well blended. Add one cup raisins, chocolate chips or nuts, if desired. Grease 2 loaf pans well, and sprinkle with cinnamon sugar, coating bottom well. Recipes - World Famous Recipes - Italian Spaghetti with Clams ITALIAN SPAGHETTI/CLAMS 4 lb. clams in shell Fresh pepper 3/4 c. olive oil 6 garlic cloves, crushed Salt 1 lb. spaghetti or linguini, imported 1/4 c. fresh parsley, chopped 1/4 c. crushed tomatoes (preferably fresh) or Italian canned Scrub clams well and rinse them. Set aside. Pour oil into large skillet (big enough to hold all ingredients). Add garlic and fry until golden. At this time boil salted water or spaghetti and cook until "al dente" (slightly firm). Add sauce, parsley, salt and pepper to taste. Add clams, then simmer for 15-30 minutes, until clams open. Discard any that do not open in 30 minutes. Drain spaghetti and place in serving bowl. Recipes - World Famous Recipes - Olive Gardens - Garden Salad with Creamy Dressing SALAD: 1 lb. fresh garden lettuce (or in any season but summer, Romaine lettuce) 1 carrot, peeled and sliced 1 tomato, diced 1 avocado, diced 2 scallions, minced 1/2 c. walnut pieces Croutons to top DRESSING: 1 c. sour cream 1 1/2 c. olive oil 1 tbsp. brown mustard 1 egg yolk 1 tsp. dried dill 2-3 cloves crushed garlic (more if you're home alone, less if you have a date) To prepare dressing, mix ingredients and blend until smooth. Recipes - World Famous Recipes - Chicken Quesadillas 1 deli-roasted whole chicken, deboned and shredded 8 ounces Monterey Jack or cheddar cheese (or a combination of both), shredded 1/2 cup chopped red onion 4 green onions, chopped 2 ripe tomatoes, seeded and chopped 1/2 cup fresh cilantro leaves, packed 1 to 2 fresh jalapeno peppers, seeded, de-ribbed and chopped Juice of 1 fresh lime Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste 8 (10-inch) flour or whole wheat tortillas Softened butter Sour cream for accompaniment Commercial salsa for accompaniment (or Pico de Gallo) In a bowl combine the deboned and shredded chicken, cheese(s), red onion, green onion, tomatoes, cilantro, jalapeno peppers and fresh lime. Season to taste with salt and pepper. To assemble and cook a quesadilla, spread or brush the softened butter on one side of two tortillas. Place one tortilla butter-side down in a medium-heated 10-inch or larger skillet. Spread 1/4 of the chicken mixture on top of the tortilla and top with the remaining tortilla, butter-side up. Cook until the bottom tortilla is nice and golden brown, using a pancake turner, carefully turn the quesadilla over and cook until nicely golden brown. Repeat process 3 more times with remaining tortillas and chicken mixture. To serve, cut each quesadilla into 8 wedges and serve with a dollop of sour cream and salsa on the side.
