CLARKSIVLLE — Mandy Myers was venturing into unknown territory when she entered a cooking contest several months ago.
But the “adventure” paid off.
Myers, who lives in Clarksville, was selected as one of 100 finalists in the 41st Pillsbury Bake-Off Contest and will travel to Hollywood, Calif., this weekend to compete for the $1 million grand prize.
“I’d never entered any contests before,” Myers said. “I saw an ad in a magazine for ‘America’s Greatest Cheese Recipes,’ and I just thought, ‘I love to bake, and I love cheese. I can do this.’”
