Pour 3/4 cup sugar over cabbage and  onion and toss.

<p>We call this Tavern Slaw.  The only difference is we use regular  cabbage and<br />
layer the cabbage &amp; onions. Pour the dressing over the top and  DO NOT mix<br />
for 24 hours.  Left over slaw will keep for a LONG time  hence the name.  We did<br />
use it in our bar.  If we tried to add other  vegetables like green pepper<br />
the slaw would become soggy within 2  days.</p>

<h2>Potato Chip Cookie Mix in a Jar</h2>
<p>1 cup white sugar<br />
1 &amp; 1/2 cups  crushed potato chips<br />
2/3 cup chopped pecans<br />
2 &amp; 1/2 cups all-purpose  flour<br />
1 teaspoon baking powder</p>
<p>In a small bowl, stir together the  flour and baking powder. Layer ingredients in order given in a 1 quart &#8220;wide  mouth&#8221; canning jar. It will be a tight fit. Press each layer firmly in place  before adding next ingredient.</p>
<p>Decorate the jar and attach a tag with  the following directions:</p>
<p>Empty jar of cookie mix into large mixing  bowl. Mix thoroughly. Add: 2 sticks butter, softened and 1 teaspoon vanilla. Mix  until blended completely. Shape into balls the size of walnuts. Flatten. Bake at  350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 14 to 18 minutes until edges are very lightly  browned. Cool 5 minutes on the cookie sheets. Remove cookies to wire racks to  cool completely.</p>

Melt caramels in sauce pan with 1/4 cup water over low heat, stirring until smooth.<br />
Drizzle over chocolate chips and nuts to within 1/4 inch of pan edges.<br />
Sprinkle reserved oat mixture over top.<br />
Bake 15 to 18 minutes longer until light golden brown and set.<br />
Chill.  </p>

3 garlic cloves, crushed with garlic press
3 green  onions, thinly sliced

<p>Ingredients<br />
1 small head (1 1/2 pounds) savoy  cabbage (or half 3-pound head), cut<br />

1 medium  red pepper, chopped<br />
3 garlic cloves, crushed with garlic press<br />
3 green  onions, thinly sliced<br />
1 tablespoon minced, peeled fresh ginger<br />
1 can (14  1/2 ounces) diced tomatoes<br />
2 tablespoons soy sauce<br />
2 tablespoons seasoned  rice vinegar<br />
1 tablespoon light brown sugar</p>
<p>Directions<br />
1. Place  cabbage and 1/4 cup water in 3-quart microwave-safe baking<br />
dish; cover and  cook in microwave oven on High 12 to 14 minutes or until<br />
cabbage is  fork-tender.</p>

<p>2. Meanwhile, in nonstick 12-inch skillet, heat oil  over medium-high<br />
heat until hot. Add carrots, celery, and pepper, and cook  12 minutes or<br />
until vegetables are tender and golden. Add garlic, green  onions, and<br />
ginger, and cook 2 minutes, stirring.</p>
<p>3. Add tomatoes  with their juice, soy sauce, vinegar, and sugar; heat to<br />
boiling over  medium-high heat. Reduce heat to medium-low and simmer 5<br />
minutes, stirring  occasionally.</p>
<p>4. Spoon tomato mixture over cabbage in baking dish; cover  and cook in<br />
microwave on High 2 minutes to blend flavors. Servings 4</p>

<h1>3-Bean Casserole</h1>

<h3>Ingredients:</h3>
<p>• 1 pound frankfurters, sliced  <br />
• 1 can pork and beans in tomato sauce  <br />
• 1 can butter beans. drained  <br />
• 1 can chili beans<br />
• 1/4 teaspoon oregano  <br />
• 1/2 cup brown sugar  <br />
• 1 small onion, chopped  <br />
• 2 tablespoons vinegar</p>
<h3>Method:</h3>
<p>Combine all ingredients. Turn into casserole. Bake casserole, uncovered, in 350 degree oven until heated through.</p>
<h3>Notes:</h3>
<p>This is a quick and easy way to have a bean dish that tastes like it has been simmered for hours. Great for potlucks or picnics. Delicious.</p>
