Apple Cheese Bread 1/2 Cup Butter or margarine 2/3 Cup Sugar 2 Eggs Apple, peeled and chopped 1/2 Cup Grated sharp Cheddar cheese 1/3 Cup Chopped Walnuts 2 Cups Flour 1 Teaspoon Baking Powder 1/2 Teaspoon Baking Soda 1/2 Teaspoon Salt Preheat oven to 350 deg F. Cream butter and sugar, beating until light. Beat in eggs, one at a time. Stir in apples, cheese and nuts. In separate bowl, combine flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Gradually and gently stir into apple mixture. Pour into greased loaf pan and bake 1 hour. Cool 10 minutes before serving.

Apple Pie With Port With Cheddar Cheese Crust 1 1/2 Cups Sugar 1/4 Cup Cornstarch 2/3 Cup Apple juice 2/3 Cup Port 2 Tablespoons Butter or margarine 1 Lemon (Grated peel only) 8 Medium Cooking apples, peeled and sliced 2 Cups Sifted flour 1 Teaspoon Salt 2/3 Cup Shortening 3/4 Cup Shredded sharp cheddar 5 Tablespoons Cold water (or more) Combine sugar and cornstarch in large saucepan. Stir in apple juice, port, butter and lemon peel. Cook over medium heat until mixture boils. Add apples and cook gently until barely tender. To make Cheddar Cheese crust, mix flour, salt and shortening with pastry blender until mixture resembles coarse meal. Stir in cheese. Add water gradually and mix lightly with fork to form dough. Divide pastry in halves and roll out one half to fit 9-inch pie pan. Roll second half of pastry and cut into 10 (1/2-inch) strips. Spoon filling into pastry-lined pan. Weave pastry strips across filling to make lattice top. Bake at 375F 30 to 45 minutes, or until done. Serve warm.
Baked Yams and Apples with Maple Glaze
Baked Yams and Apples with Maple Glaze 3 large garnet yams 2 large apples 3/4 maple syrup 1/4 cup apple cider salt and pepper to taste Scrubs yams, peel and slice into 1/4" thick rounds. Peel, core and slice apples in 1/4" thick slices. Arrange in ungreased 9x13" baking dish, alternating layers of yams and apples. Combine maple syrup and cider in small saucepan and bring to boil over medium high heat. Pour over yams and apples. Sprinkle with salt and pepper to taste. Cover dish with foil. Bake at 400 degrees for 1 hour, then uncover and bake 15 to 20 min longer or until yams are soft and syrup is thick. Makes 8 servings.

Crockpot Beef Stew with Apple Dumplings 5 pounds stew beef cut into 1 1/2" cubes 1/2 cup flour 3 beef bouillon cubes, crushed 1/2 tsp pepper 2 cups onions -- sliced 2 garlic cloves -- minced 1/2 cup beef broth 3/4 cup apple juice 2 Tbs vinegar 1 tsp thyme 1 tsp curry Apple Dumplings 1 cup applesauce 2 eggs, well beaten 2 tsp parsley, chopped 2 cups flour 2 tsp baking powder 1 tsp salt Coat meat with mixture of flour, salt and pepper. Combine meat, onion, garlic, beef broth, apple juice, vinegar, thyme and curry in crockpot. Cover and cook on auto 7 hours; or high 4 to 5 hours; or low 8 to 10 hours. Remove cover and place tablespoons of dumpling batter on top of stew. Cover and cook on high for 20 minutes. To make dumpling batter, blend applesauce with eggs and parsley; add flour, baking powder and salt and beat into egg mixture.

Crock Pot Apple Butter Ingredients a.. 3 lbs Granny Smith Apples b.. 3 cups sugar c.. 2 teaspoons cinnamon d.. 1 teaspoon nutmeg e.. 1/2 teaspoon allspice f.. 1/2 teaspoon cloves g.. dash of salt h.. 3/4 cup water Directions Fill crock pot 3/4 full peeled, cored and sliced apples. Mix spices with sugar; add to apples and stir. Add water. Cover and cook on low heat overnight. If apple butter has too much liquid, remove lid and cook on high until desired consistency.

Apple Pecan Pie Cobbler 6 large granny smith apples, peeled and sliced 1/2 cup firmly packed light brown sugar 2 tbs flour 1/4 cup butter 1/2 cup dark corn syrup Pecan Pie Muffin batter Toss together first 3 ingriedients in large bowl. Melt butter in large skillet over medium high heat. Add apple mixture and corn syrup to skillet, bring to a boil, and cook, stirring often, about 10min. Divide hot apple mixture evenly between 6 lightly greased 6oz oven proof custard cups. Spoon pecan pie muffine batter over hot apple mixture. Bake at 425 degrees for 15 to 20min or until golden brown.

Cookie Sheet Apple Pie Ingredients 2-1/4 cups all-purpose flour 1/2 tsp. each baking powder, salt 1/2 cup butter or margarine 1 cup whipping cream Filling 5 medium tart apples 1/4 cup granulated sugar 1 tbsp. all-purpose flour dash salt 1/2 tsp. cinnamon Glaze 1 egg 2 tbsp. milk Directions Crust: Combine all ingredients for crust except butter and whipping cream. Cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Blend in whipping cream to make a firm dough. Chill if necessary until firm. Dust a lightly-greased baking sheet with flour. Flatten dough out onto baking sheet. Roll or pat out to 1/4" thickness. Trim to make a 14x14" square. Roll out trimmings and cut into strips. Apples: Pare, core, and slice apples. Turn into bowl, mix with filling ingredients. Assemble: Arrange apples in rows over crust in pan, leaving 2" empty at each edge. Dot with 2 tbsp. butter. Arrange strips in criss-cross fashion over apples. Fold edge of crust up and over ends of strips, pinch corners to seal. Beat eggs and milk, and brush pastry with mixture. Bake at 400° F. 30 - 35 minutes, or until golden and apples are cooked. Makes 12 servings.
