DELUXE DATE NUT SLICE
1 1/4 cups S R, flour 3/4 cup chopped dates 1/2 cup chopped walnuts 1 egg 2/3 cup soft brown sugar [ firmly packed ] 125g [4 1/2 oz ] butter Melt butter, beat egg, then add to other ingredients. Mix well, press into a greased swiss roll tin. Bake in a moderate oven for 15-20 minutes. Cut into squares. Ice if you like.
